Life Insurance
Life insurance for expatriate Australian will often be available from Australian insurers. This has the advantage of offering continuity on return to Australia, and it is usually cheaper than using International insurers. The Australian Government's Smarttraveller website is often a good indication of whether Australian insurers will cover you on a particularly country. If it advises you don't travel to a country, or re-consider your travel, then coverage will often be difficult to obtain. Sometimes only (term) life insurance will be available rather than trauma or income protection.

Exfin provides no obligation access to life insurance brokers in Australia and worldwide, who are familiar with the particular issues surrounding both the coverage of Australians while overseas. Our approach is to try and arrange coverage through Australian insurers and brokers first - because it is usually more cost effective and provides continuity on return to Australia. If this is not possible, and Australian insurers may decline to cover expats in certain countries or occupations, then coverage is almost always available through International insurers.
